Pritchie's Titanic
A 100 years ago today, Titanic and more than half of her passengers and crew were taken forever by the Atlantic Ocean, never to be seen again. It is a heartbreaking tragedy which has hooked into the minds of millions over the past 100 years and fascinates people in every way a disaster possibly can. The story of a ship sinking into the sea and taking away numerous victims is certainly not a new thing, boats and sea vessels have sunk since the very first boats began discovering the world, yet the story of Titanic is certainly one that is the most famous and, quite possibly, the most surprising and possibly, disturbing. The events and outcomes seemed to change societies' views on certain levels which will be discussed throughout my site. I am beginning my site today, on the 100th Anniversary of the sinking as a mark of my respect for the many, many lives lost and for those who survived but who's souls were destroyed in the tragedy, and for Titanic herself, she has become as much of a soul as the next person to me and her own tragedy is nearly, or just as, heartbreaking. This is pretty much a “hub” for my collected pictures, facts and thoughts. As many other Titanic enthusiasts, Titanic has lived in my head for years, now is my time for me to share. There are many websites and forums dedicated to the tragedy, each with painstaking amounts of work involved, please see the links index (still to come! LOTS of the site are still to come!) for these sites (for more, Google will bring up many, many others each worthy of a look). Many of the sites have been invaluable to me in my research and personal discovery of Titanic. I like to dig and investigate as much information about my Histories, to the point I'm called "obsessive"... I like to call it "thorough"! ;) So with this in mind, I hope to collect as much as is available on Titanic and put them together here for us all - I do not claim to be trying to make the BEST site of Titanic at all, as mentioned above there are a lot of sites which really do sparkle - I'm doing this for the enjoyment of studying and sharing. I've acquired as many pictures as I possibly could in order to make real the moments of key events. Many images are scaled down, so please right click on your mouse and "View Image" to see them in their full size. I have studied the people on board and am going to have a very detailed collection of them, along with photographs and stories, reminisces of the living, and last accounts, if possible, of the dead. I hope that you enjoy my site, if you wish to contact me for any reason at all, please use the Contact Box on the relevant page, there is a button to the right of this text box which will take you straight there, if you include your email I will respond as soon as I can. Thank you for visiting my site, I hope you find it interesting. |
